The Best Day of Fishing EVER!

We got to enjoy the beautiful fall weather yesterday! We took a drive and found a little stream to fish in. We had so much fun. In fact, Will said it was THE MOST FUN HE HAS HAD while fishing EVER!! That's saying a lot for a guy that has fished a lot of places, including Alaska. I agree that it was a blast to catch and see so many fish. And the weather was beautiful! It looked like it might rain a little bit but it didn't. It was mostly cloudy the whole time. We stayed warm enough. It was so awesome to be able to have a hit or strike at almost every cast in a few certain pools we fished. So fun! We mostly fished dry flies which is the best kind of trout fishing in my opinion because you can see the fly as you drift it down and you can also watch the fish smash the surface to take your fly. Oh, the joys! Mostly we caught brookies, but we also hooked up with a couple of rainbows, too.

Beautiful Fall Day

Why we love brook trout

1. Beautiful fish! The coloring and design they have are so intricate
2. They really put up a good fight
3. They are so prolific. When you find one, there is usually a lot more

If you enlarge this picture of a brook trout, you can see the distinctive red spots with blue halos
