Sunday we left Beaver and headed south towards Vegas. The scenery is so beautiful around Cedar City and St. George. The red rock is so nice! We had signed up for a 2 day course at Front Sight Firearms Training which is located near Pahrump, about 1 hour west of Vegas. We stayed at a hotel in Pahrump. The training facility is pretty much out in the middle of the Nevada desert.
Here are some pictures from the training we received. We took the 2-day defensive hand gun course.

We had a lot of training both classroom and on the range. Mostly we were on the range and the instructor would teach us something while sitting in the seats (which had shade, we were grateful!)and then we would go out on the range and practice it. We both felt like it was good training. I especially didn't feel very confident with a 9 mm before we went, but now I feel a lot better about it. And we didn't even get sunburned. The weather was nice and hot and sunny. Between our hats and sunscreen and long-sleeve shirts and pants, we did pretty well at staying away from the sun.We need to practice more now that we are home so we don't forget the things that we learned. We took notes on the way home so we would have a written reference as well as what we remembered.
